A Call To All Japan Bloggers
For those of you who’ve been kind enough to visit 7:10 to Tokyo and return, I thank you. I’d like to say that things have run smoothly at 7:10 thus far, but that would be a lie now, wouldn’t it? A problem with 7:10’s web host has left things in disarray to say the least. But, on the positive side, it’s time to take 7:10 to Tokyo in the direction it was meant to go in the first place.
I had always intended for 7:10 to be a blogazine; that is, a site written by bloggers for bloggers. It wasn’t meant to be my personal site. I had hoped that I could feature posts from different Japan bloggers on a regular basis. Initially, I sought out regular contributors, but in hindsight, that was too ambitious. However, I haven’t given up on the goal of having 7:10 to Tokyo become a magazine full of posts from bloggers who wish to share their Japan experiences and/or their interest in Japan in general.
So this is what I’d like to do now…
I’d like to invite every Japan blogger who is interested in showcasing his/her posting talents to feature some of their work here at 7:10 to Tokyo. Anytime you want something featured on 7:10, just log in and write your draft. Once your post is reviewed, a posting date will be scheduled and you’ll be notified via e-mail. It’s as simple as that. If you’ve got something you want featured, and would like to bring more traffic to your site, here’s the place to do that! And,… the more popular 7:10 to Tokyo gets, the more traffic for you.
Each post features an author bio and links to his/her website. Also, registered posters will be featured on the ‘Contributors’ page. You can submit one post or a thousand; the deal remains the same.
So please, help me make 7:10 to Tokyo the premier Japan blogazine on the web. Register here.

When I tried to register I was brought to a Wordpress login page. Is a Wordpress login necessary?

Yep. Since the platform is WP, all content management is done through it. The visual editor can be a bit frustrating if you’re new to it, but if you get stuck with post-layout problems, don’t worry, I clean up any layout issues .

Good stuff getting the site back online. Nice idea making it easier for people to contribute to 7:10. Any rules? Article length, linking policy, etc?

No special rules, Nick. I would suggest that people who contribute to 7:10 make quick posts on their blogs directing readers to their 7:10 posts.
And, basic SEO should be considered… For example, not posting the same article with the same keywords and title on one’s personal blog after posting at 7:10.
Other than that, it’s pretty liberal here.
