Where in Tokyo?

By billywest 23 November 2008 15 Comments

Ok, here’s the game…

Guess where in Tokyo the photographer was when he snapped the shot. Depending on the photo, a high degree of specificity may be required. Use your best judgment; If more precision is required, you’ll find out in the comments section below. The first person to guess all three locations correctly (subject to the author’s discretion) will get his or her Japan blog written up in JapanBlogger, as long as he or she consents to an interview. Leave your responses in the comments section of this post.

Seen this place before?

How about this one?

Or this one?

Hope it’s not too easy for you…

    Where in Tokyo? | 7:10 to Tokyo…

    Three photos…

Guess where the photographer was when he snapped the shots and get a cheesy reward (three different locations, so three different guesses)….

The first one Looks to me like it’s taken from Yoyogi Uehara station, on the Odakyu line, heading back into Shinjuku … but i could be wrong.

    1) Ochanomizu?

    2) W. Shinjuku?

    3) I’ll say the Oedo Line where it completes the “loop”.

Not having been there in over a year I had a hard time with this.

I can’t confirm any one part of the total 3 answers; there has to be three correct ones before a “you are correct, sir” can be added to your response.

    Keep it up…

Those photos could be any place in Tokyo! This is a good one Billy. The second photo looks like every other side street in Tokyo. I have no idea where these places are located.

First one is Tokyo Camii Mosque

Secound is nearly impossible but it looks north/west of shinjuku due to the Tokyo Metro building in the distance, maybe from Nakano/suginami or Nerima area.

The third photo is the new Fukutoshin line Shibuya station

    Billy I like this!

I agree with Neil - number 1 is Yoyogi Uehara - South exit from the station.

Sadly, number 2 and number 3 I don’t know. Number 3 makes me think of Shinjuku station though - Keio line? Odakyu line? I can’t remember! I know I’ve seen it though.

Congrats, Richard! Do you have a blog?

Everyone else, thanks for playing. There’ll be another edition coming soon; check back often and keep an eye out for it.

Thanks man! I took a couple weeks off work so a little late on the reply.

1 and 3 were fairly easy but the 3rd was a bit of an educated guess.

I currently do not have a blog but might give it a try sooner or later.

Looking forward to your next edition!

Billy, may I suggest using a shot of graffiti somewhere as one of the next three photos in the next series?

That’s a nice idea, Jason. I’ll keep my camera with me and keep an eye out.
